"Let your love flow ceaselessly..." - Avatar Meher Baba

Meher Mount

AVATAR MEHER BABA in 1938 along the Narmada River, India, by artist Charles Mills.

"Let your love flow on ceaselessly,
like a stream down the mountain on its way to the Ocean.
Obstructions there will be, of pleasures, of pains.
Pass by these as passing phases.
There will be flowers and thorns by the bank and in the flow.
Do not get attached; do not get affected.
Go on and on and let the stream become a river.
Doubts may assail you, self-complacency may lure you,
but with love in the heart, roll on, flow on to Me — the Ocean.
Worry not, fear not.
I am the Ocean of Love.”
—   Avatar Meher Baba [1]

“You Launch Me,” a poem by Jon Meyer from his book, Loves Poems from New England: reflections on states of mind and states of hear. Image by Jon Meyer.

“You launch me down the rushing
White water so I am hitting rocks and
Crashing over waterfalls while convincing
Me this is the quickest way back to
You.”
— Jon Meyer [2]

AVATAR MEHER BABA in at the ocean by artist Charles Mills.

“I give my love to you all. I know that you all love me. It is because of my love for you that you love me. If you can love me more and more, then there will come a day when you Realize me as I am. I am not this physical form. I am the Ocean — the Unlimited Ocean of Love. Try to love me more and more and you will know me.”

— Avatar Meher Baba [3]

Bal Natu (1919-2003) was a close disciple of Meher Baba. He dedicated the last 30 years of his life to writing and compiling books about Meher Baba’s life: the superb series, Glimpses of the God-Man, Meher Baba; collecting and publishing “Baba stories” from Meher Baba’s followers; and on the inner life of following Meher Baba in his Conversations with the Awakener series.

[2] “You Launch Me,” a poem by Jon Meyer from his book, Loves Poems from New England: reflections on states of mind and states of heart. Jon was prompted to write this poem, using the analogy of flowing water for the spiritual path, after hearing stories of being with Meher Baba from Bhau Kalchuri, one of Meher Baba’s close disciples.
