Coronavirus Update

Due to social distancing and COVID-19, all group activities are on hold.

Meher Mount is still open to individual visitors Thursday-Sunday, Noon to 5:00 p.m. It's helpful to call in advance 805-640-0000. Visitors can spend time by Baba's Tree, at Avatar's Point and in the Darshan Courtyard area by Baba's Fireplace. The Visitor Center/Caretaker Quarters is closed. There is a portable toilet on site.

Visitors are asked to remember and follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health to act responsibly in reducing the transmission of the virus:

  • If you are feeling sick, even with mild symptoms, please stay home.

  • In public, please maintain distance from others of at least six feet and do not make direct physical contact.

  • Refrain from touching when greeting people, no handshakes, hugs, or fist-bumps.

  • Please wear a mask as a courtesy to everyone around you.

  • Remain mindful of risks in shared public spaces.

There are steps to take to protect your health and those around you:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue and immediately dispose of it.

  • Wash hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth, especially with unwashed hands.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using regular household cleaning spray or wipes.

  • Anyone who becomes sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough, should stay away from work, school or other people to avoid spreading illness, and seek assistance from a healthcare provider of symptoms become severe.
