On May 29, 2009, students from the Oak Grove School in Ojai visited Meher Mount as part of their world religious study.

Afterward, many commented on Baba’s Tree, the 1985 fire that nearly destroyed it, and being where Avatar Meher Baba sat in 1956.

“I loved sitting under the tree.”

“I thought that Meher Mount was a great place to go. It was a very beautiful place, and it was nice to just be quiet and not have to talk. I loved sitting under the tree that Meher Baba sat under." - E student

“I enjoyed sitting in under the huge oak tree and the history of the events that happen there. I would like to go back and have another experience.” - G Student

“I Could Hear Tons of Birds with a Cheerful Song”

“Going to Meher Mount was quite the ride going up a windy hill. I didn't get to see much because I wasn't feeling the best, but I could tell the place was really in touch with nature. While I rested I could hear tons of birds surrounding me and with a cheerful song. It was a real place to communicate with nature.” - M Student

“I Hope I can Go There Again”

“I thought that the trip Meher Mount was a very educational, fun experience and I am glad that we went on it. I think that it is amazing how Meher Baba sat under the same tree that I did. I also liked the story about how the beekeeper had a vision at the same place. The hike was nice and it was cool to go through all the tall grass and lands that had been burned by the fire. I enjoyed the trip a lot and I hope that I can go there again in the future. “ - H Student

“I thought Meher Mountain was a place where nature thrives and respects. I hope that the tree will be healthy and ready to inspire more people. If anything else happens to the oak tree please tell Ron [the teacher], and from there he'll tell us. Lastly, thank you for showing us around Meher Mount. I hope to come again.” - K Student
