You Are Invited to a Special Screening of Tree of Fire: A Story of Love and Resilience

You’re invited to a special screening of the award-winning film Tree of Fire: A Story of Love and Resilience on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The showing is at the Avatar Meher Baba Center of Southern California (Meherabode) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The address is 1214 Van Ness Avenue, Los Angeles, CA.

The event is free and open to the community. Meherabode will also unveil a uniquely crafted, custom-made table made from the fallen wood of Baba’s Tree. The craftsman Jom Rivers will share his comments about making this special table.

Tree of Fire: A Story of Love and Resilience tells the incredible story of the loss, recovery and the spiritual connection of Baba’s Tree – a once-thriving oak at Meher Mount, devastated by fire, that rises from the ashes to offer love and comfort.

While visiting Meher Mount in 1956, Meher Baba spent time alone inside the canopy of this coast live oak, and it became the spiritual landmark known as Baba’s Tree.

In December 2017, fire and high winds toppled and badly damaged the tree.

Volunteers worked together to give the tree the love and care it had given them for years. Tree of Fire is the story told by the people who nursed the tree back to health and found new and meaningful ways to carry the legacy of Baba’s Tree forward.

Through personal testimonies and breathtaking imagery, the film invites viewers to rediscover their own capacity for healing, transformation, and spiritual awakening.
