Free Keepsake - Ashes of Love from Baba's Tree
To honor Baba's Tree and its remarkable story, Meher Mount is offering a very special keepsake — a small vial of ashes from Baba's Tree, beautifully packaged and sent to you with love.
These ashes are from the tree that survived two fires, in 1985 and again in 2017. They carry the story of Baba’s Tree resilience and the power of love.
"It's the story of life. It's about reinventing yourself, of not being defeated. You get a lot of love, you get help, but you move on and do your best," said Storyteller Agnes Montano.
This vial of ashes is a free gift. There is only a $15 charge to cover the cost of the packaging, materials, and mailing.
Love is meant to be shared. A little extra from you helps pass this gift along.
In 1956, Avatar Meher Baba visited Meher Mount and sat alone beneath this coastal live oak tree in deep silence.
The caretaker, Agnes Baron, said to Him, “Here's your tree, Baba. I think it's a very loving little temple.”
For decades, people came to sit under the branches of Baba’s Tree. They came to pray, to be still, and to feel close to something greater than themselves.
Then in December 2017, wildfire swept through Meher Mount. The Thomas Fire and strong winds toppled the canopy and severely burned the hollowed-out trunk. Baba’s Tree looked like it might not survive.
But volunteers came. They gave Baba's Tree the love and care it had always given them. Those who had visited sent their love from around the world. And the tree came back.
Today, Baba's Tree is still standing. It has grown strong again. Young trees now grow around it. These Ashes of Love help tell this remarkable story of love and resilience.
