On August 2, 1956, Avatar Meher Baba finally arrived at Meher Mount.
He and His men and women mandali (close disciples) were to have spent 10 days at Meher Mount in 1952, but the car accident foretold by Meher Baba happened near Prague, Oklahoma, on the way to Ojai, California.
When Meher Baba eventually arrived at Meher Mount in 1956, He said, "I love Meher Mount very much."
Several photos of that day at Meher Mount still exist, including one in which Meher Baba is walking the property while the Caretaker Agnes Baron points out various sights and facts. Eruch Jessawala holds an umbrella to protect Meher Baba from the sun.
Artist Karl Gallagher of Melbourne, Australia, painted that moment of Meher Baba's visit to Meher Mount.
Karl also has other paintings of Meher Baba including one known as "The Stealer of Hearts, a/ki/a The Universal Thief," just outside Mandali Hall at the end of the veranda in Meherazad, India.
