ROLE OF THE MASTER PLAN

The role of the Master Plan is to provide a framework for planning, operations and future development of programs, activities and infrastructure.  On the one it hand, it is designed to be broad enough to encompass all elements and aspects of Meher Mount.  On the other hand, it is focused enough to provide consistent direction and guidance.

The Master Plan incorporates and synthesizes the decisions, ideas and plans developed to date, while allowing for future action within the guidelines outlined.  It does not include every detail about every aspect of Meher Mount.  Those details are developed project by project over time.  Annual goals and budgets are developed in the context of the Master Plan.

PURPOSE OF THE MASTER PLAN

The purpose of the Master Plan is to fulfill the purpose and vision of Meher Mount, specifically:

• Facilitate the Remembrance of Avatar Meher Baba:  Maintain Meher Mount as a medium for remembering Avatar Meher Baba and honoring His presence at Meher Mount.
• Nurture Divine Love & Oneness through Nature:  Preserve the natural environment and support opportunities for loving God through nature.
• Support Pilgrimage to Meher Mount:  Facilitate day pilgrimage of visitors with the least impact to Meher Mount.
• Provide Opportunities for Service:  Honor Agnes Baron’s legacy by creating opportunities for selfless service.
• Be Effective Stewards:  Preserve Meher Mount for future generations with thoughtful and careful stewardship.

STEWARDSHIP OF MEHER MOUNT

People who have spent time at Meher Mount often feel the place is an instrument for Avatar Meher Baba’s work.  Therefore, the role of stewards is to strive to maintain a practical, thoughtful, and yet flexible approach to preserving the legacy of Meher Mount, while remaining open to the unfolding drama of Beloved Meher Baba’s relationship with each heart.
