JOIN A WORK PARTY

At one point she told Meher Baba, “If you want me to take care of Meher Mount, I will keep it for you through hell, fire and damnation!”

A WORK PARTY rolls a new water tank up the hill and into place as part of the new water system installed in 2004. (Sam Ervin photo.)Over the years, the nature of the tasks have changed from the back-breaking use of hand sickles and scythes to using a tractor and ride-on mower to manage for fire abatement.

Meher Mount still depends upon volunteers for its maintenance, preservation, and stewardship.  Agnes Baron was particularly interested in selfless service or karma yoga. She urged all who visited to volunteer their time and energies in service to Meher Mount.

For others, volunteering at Meher Mount is an opportunity to render service in honor of Avatar Meher Baba.  For others, the work is a form of meditation.  And finally, party projects often foster companionship in service.
