Each year Meher Mount conducts an Annual Fund campaign to raise operating funds.  Donors make contributions ranging from $10 to $5,000 - and every donation counts.  Please support Meher Mount with your charitable, tax-deductible contribution.

10 REASONS TO SUPPORT MEHER MOUNT

1 KEEPING IT FOR MEHER BABA 

Day-to-day maintenance is one of the keystones of keeping Meher Mount for Avatar Meher Baba. From painting and repair, to mowing and weeding, to maintaining the water system – all of these “hidden” activities are vital to caring for Meher Mount.

2 WELCOMING VISITORS

Hundreds of people visit Meher Mount each year, many for the first time.  For these visitors, there is often a connection to something larger than themselves.  They mention a special, sometimes indescribable feeling of joy, peace or contentment. 

3 CELEBRATING MEHER BABA’S VISIT

On the first Saturday in August, there is an anniversary celebration of Avatar Meher Baba’s day-long visit on August 2, 1956.  These days are marked by music, talks, dramatic readings, food, and fellowship.

4 HOSTING SPECIAL GUESTS

Periodically, Meher Mount hosts special guests who come to share their stories of being with Meher Baba.  In addition, there are open houses in honor of key events associated with Him.  All are welcome.

5 PROTECTING MEHER MOUNT’S BOUNDARIES

Meher Mount continues to be involved in costly litigation to protect .44 acres from adverse possession by another party.  Meher Mount believes the current dispute – now at the California Court of Appeals –will result in a landmark ruling for non-profit organizations.

6 BUILDING THE TOPA TOPA PATIO

The new Topa Topa Patio, a 26’ by 26’ area with a shade trellis, will give visitors an opportunity to enjoy a picnic and savor the views of the 6400-foot Topa Topa Bluffs across the Ojai Valley. 

7 LANDSCAPING THE PATIO AREA

With the completion of the Topa Topa Patio, landscaping will begin around the area.  The goal is to plant native, drought-tolerant plants that fit the area and add to the natural feeling and beauty.

8 FEEDING THE BIRDS

Pause a moment at Meher Mount, and even the most casual birdwatcher can view the different species that find Meher Mount a welcome home – or at least a good place to visit on their way somewhere else.

9 ELIMINATING YELLOW STARTHISTLE

Yellow Starthistle – “the plant that ate California” – has invaded Meher Mount. It’s a multi-year, multi-faceted program to eliminate this very invasive pest and restore the habitat. 

10 PRESERVING THE NATURAL BEAUTY 

As Southern California continues to grow, open space – particularly open space along the coast – is given over to development. Thus, an area of 173 acres which is a natural habitat for all types of flora and fauna becomes even more precious and rare.  Careful management minimizes the impact on the land while providing a maximum opportunity to enjoy Meher Mount’s natural environment.
